Which brand paint is better for indoor, with children, open plan living… ?

Hi- Are you in Australia or in another part of the world? Here in Australia I’d recommend one of the big paint companies such as Dulux or Taubmans and I’d go for a ‘scrubable’ finish with kids around. For instance Taubmans has a product called ‘Living Proof Silk’ which is stain resistant and is washable. Also, if you have painted skirting boards (these are the things that get chipped with children aroun) use a new water-based enamel look paint that will be easy for you to keep a small pot on hand to do the odd touch-up.
As far as colour goes, that all depends on your decor.

But Dulux offers colour consultants coming to my house with reasonable price, but Taubmans doesn’t do house visit yet consult cost is much higher.
Hello again Sonja- That’s ver strange. I’d certainly ask the Dulux consultant around. They will advise you on which colour is best for you as your room may be facing south and need a bit of a warmer shade anf they will also advise you in regard to your furnishings that are going into the room as well. If you have in mind new blinds, curtains, uphostery, I’d have some samples on hand for that appointment as well as any images from magazines or the net that you are particularly interested in.
